Product Description
Original MORSO factory nose knives for MORSO NM series manual notching machines are made in Denmark to precise specifications.
All MORSO NM machines are shipped with one 3/4" wide nose knife to process beaded face frames. Other nose knives are available from 1/4" up to 1" in width.
The nose knives have a machined groove in the back to match the tip of the cutting head. The mounting holes are countersunk, guaranteeing accurate positioning when changing or replacing knives.
1/4", 5/16" and 3/8" knives fit on the smaller cutting heads (part: N0076-8202) and are used for half-lap joints on mullions and muntins. The wider knives are used for various sizes of face frame moulding, with the 3/4" and the 1" being the most popular sizes.
All knives have a vertical centerline engraved on the front, allowing the operator to work to pencil marks on one-time or custom face frames. (For multiple frames, it is easier to set the included flip-stops).
Original MORSO nose knives are made from the highest quality Austrian Steel, precision machined and hardened to Rockwell 64.They are literally as hard as and hold an edge as long as the best hand chisels. The factory in Denmark sharpens them with a hollow grinding machine and each knife is hand-honed before shipping.
Always return dull knives to Hoffmann Machine Company Inc. for grinding and honing to factory specifications. We have a MORSO grinding machine in our shop here in Valdese, NC to get your knives back to like-new condition.
Please Note:
1/4", 5/16", and 3/8" Nose Knives require the Smaller Cutting Head (Part# N0076-8202) for operation.
