| The
Hoffmann PP2-VH dovetail routing machine is used for both
vertical and horizontal routing operations. The machine is
equipped with two high-speed router motors to rout one dovetail
slot in each of two parts simultaneously.
Vertical
machining:
The supplied 45 degree fence plate, which is guided in a keyway
in the machine table, is used to accurately position the material
on the table. The location of the dovetail slots for the Hoffmann
keys is adjusted by simply moving this fence plate.
The
machine is equipped with a electronic foot switch to start
the routing process. Upon depressing of the switch, the routing
sequence is initiated:

heads advance until the pre-set height position is reached

The
routing height is easily adjusted between 0 - 5".
Horizontal
machining:
Both router heads are moved above the machine table by simply
operating a switch on the front of the machine. The distance
between the router bits and the table depends on the thickness
of the material being processed and can be adjusted between
0 - 5".
Upon
making the necessary adjustments, the routing sequence is
again started by depressing the electronic foot switch.

outside, until the pre-set return position is reached

The
horizontal routing stroke is easily adjusted between 0 - 6"
Flow control
valves on all pneumatic cylinders allow the operator to adjust
the vertical and horizontal feed rates independently, depending
on the material being processed.
A
heavy-duty anodized steel table provides a large work surface,
the steel cabinet has a 4" diameter dust collection port
on its backside for dust free operation.
All
movements are controlled with electronic proximity switches
as well as sensor on the pneumatic cylinders. An industrial
quality PLC is located in a dust-proof electrical cabinet
and controls all major machine functions.
The
supplied router bits are solid tungsten carbide, made to exacting
specifications. Depending on the routing depth and the material
to be routed, the useable cutter life is approx. 8,000 strokes.
Every
machine is shipped with a tool kit and set-up jig, which allows
a router, bit change in only minutes. Diamond cutters are
also available.
